For being a Reading University Scholar during the first quarter of the 2009-2010 school year.
Kirsten's school has a reading program called Reading University. They encourage the kids to read at least 6 grade level books per quarter, however Miss Kirsten far exceeds that number. She was recently honored during a school assembly with a certificate, ribbon, and a book of her choice. We are so proud of her, she's such a little smarty and is truly succeeding at school. Below is a short letter he teacher wrote for her:
Kirsten has been excited and eager to read from the very start! She has diligently returned her Reading Log weekly and her stickers are soaring on our chart. I not only see it on paper, but I watch her attempting to read anything she can. She is a star reader in all that she does. She excels phenomenally at her Reading Fluencies and has recently jumped to a more intense reading group with her words per minute more than doubling from the beginning of the year! We are so proud of you Kirsten! Keep up the hard work.
"God's purpose for the artist is to inspire, to give us visions of ourselves that we might not see, to make us better than we would have been. The world is better for the arts and righteous artists in it. In the quest to achieve greatness in artistic pursuits--whether in painting, music, dance, drama, film, sculpture, or the written word--we should always seek first to achieve God's purposes." -Elder M. Russell Ballard
Remember the little things, because one day you will look back and realize that they were the big things.
