Our story begins at 4:00AM on Saturday, March 27th 2010. We awoke to a beeping alarm clock, excited to hit the road! We had loaded up the van the night before so all we had to do was get dressed, get the kids up, potty, brush teeth, say a prayer, and head out the door. Brrr. It was freezing! We stopped about an hour away for breakfast at McDonalds and continued our journey south. All of the kids fell asleep wich was nice. We hit some very slick roads and snow right before Cedar City. The sun finally came up and with it the kids. They were great! Not cranky in the least. Here is my proof:
The next leg of our journey finds us in Las Vegas which we have now renamed: Time-Suck-Den-of-Evil-U.S.A. Ok, if you're traveling to CA and need to stop don't stop in Vegas! We thought it'd be great to take the kids into a casino for a lunch buffet. We wandered forever through Ceasar's Palace just to get to the buffet. By the time we got there, it was $20.00 per person so we said no thanks! Instead we went to Planet Hollywood thinking it should be pretty kid friendly. It was the worst service we have ever had eating out. The $15.00 hamburger I ate was definately gross, the kids wouldn't eat their cheese pizza or chicken nuggets. Waste of time, waste of money, not to mention the hostile stares we got from people looking at us like "Why in the world did you bring your family here?" Trust me people, we were thinking the same thing! The girls really liked the big fountain in Ceasar's so we grabbed a couple of pictures:(apparantly I didn't upload the other one so oh well)
We found ourselves back in the van to finish the drive. Looongest part and the most boring and scary.
We found ourselves back in the van to finish the drive. Looongest part and the most boring and scary. Dear California Drivers,
You are all (k, there might be an exception out there) horrible drivers!!! Learn to merge and quit slamming on your breaks!!
Sincerely,
The Coombs Family
So after we made it through traffic we arrived at The Disneyland Hotel!!!! Oh, it was glorious! We stayed in the Wonder Tower where we had a great view from the 11th floor. It had a small patio and big sliding doors so we could hear the waterfall outside. We were unpacking and getting settled when we heard trumpets! So the girls ran out to see what was going on and there was a wedding! This bride got to ride in Cinderella's pumpkin carriage, complete w/ costumed driver and trumpet players. So being the tourists that we were, we snapped some pictures of it to share:

That looks like so much fun so far! Can't wait to see more pictures. That's so nice the kids were so well behaved on the way. Bummer about Vegas!
